The short answer
ClearCoat Painting paints homes and small commercial buildings in Cloud Lake, FL, about 18 miles south of our Jupiter base. We handle interior and exterior repaints, cabinets, trim, drywall repair, pressure washing and popcorn ceiling removal, and we plan exterior work around the wet-season afternoon storms.
Cloud Lake is one of the smallest towns in Palm Beach County, and its homes tend to get the same treatment from the weather year after year: strong sun on the south and west walls, damp air that settles on shaded eaves, and summer downpours that test every seam in the stucco. ClearCoat Painting drives about 18 miles south from Jupiter to work here, and we schedule Cloud Lake jobs alongside nearby projects in Haverhill, Glen Ridge and West Palm Beach so a crew can stay on your house until it is done rather than splitting days. This page explains how we approach a repaint in a compact inland neighborhood like this one, what we look at first, and how to time the work so the paint has the best chance to cure properly.
Small Lots, Close Neighbors, Careful Setup
Many Cloud Lake properties sit close to the property line, with a neighbor's driveway or fence only a few feet from the wall we are painting. That changes how we prep. Before any spraying, we mask windows, cover landscaping, and set drop cloths along shared boundaries so overspray stays on your house and nowhere else. On tight side yards we often brush and roll instead of spraying, which is slower but keeps the work contained.
We also talk through parking and access before day one. A crew truck, a ladder rack and a pressure washer need room, and we would rather plan that with you than block a neighbor's car at seven in the morning.
What the Sun and Rain Do to Cloud Lake Exteriors
Inland Palm Beach County homes miss some of the salt spray that coastal towns deal with, but they get every bit of the heat. Ultraviolet light breaks down the binders in paint, and the result is chalking: a powdery film that rubs off on your hand and makes darker colors look washed out. South and west elevations usually show it first.
Moisture is the other half of the story. From May through October the air stays humid and afternoon thunderstorms roll through often, so shaded walls, soffits and the north side of the house can grow mildew within a season or two. Concrete-block walls finished in stucco also develop hairline cracks as they expand and contract, and water finds those cracks quickly.
Our exterior system answers both problems: a thorough wash, crack repair with flexible patching compound, a masonry primer where the surface is chalky or bare, and a finish coat chosen for UV resistance and mildew resistance. On walls with recurring cracking, we may suggest an elastomeric coating, which stretches over small movement instead of splitting.
Interior Projects That Come Up Often
Inside, the most common request we get from older South Florida homes is a fresh look in rooms that have not been touched in a long time. That might mean repainting walls and ceilings, refinishing kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them, or taking down a textured popcorn ceiling so the room feels brighter and more current.
Popcorn ceiling removal is messy work, and we treat it that way. We seal the room, protect floors and furniture, wet and scrape the texture, then skim, sand and prime the ceiling so it is ready for paint. If your home was built before the late 1970s, the texture should be tested for asbestos before anyone disturbs it; we will tell you up front if that step applies.
- Wall, ceiling and accent wall painting
- Cabinet painting with degreasing, sanding and a durable enamel finish
- Drywall patching for nail pops, door-knob holes and water stains
- Trim, baseboard and door painting with crisp lines
- Popcorn ceiling removal and smooth-finish refinishing
Timing Your Paint Job Around the Seasons
The drier months from roughly November into April are the easiest time for exterior painting here. Humidity drops, afternoon storms are less frequent, and paint can dry between coats without a surprise shower. That does not mean summer is off the table. During the wet season we start early, watch the radar, and stop in time for coatings to set before the usual afternoon rain.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, and many homeowners like to have peeling or cracked areas sealed before the busiest stretch of it. Interior work, on the other hand, can be scheduled any month; air-conditioned rooms give us steady conditions regardless of what is happening outside.

Because Cloud Lake is surrounded by other communities we serve, it is easy to bundle a visit. We regularly work in Palm Beach, Haverhill, Mangonia Park, West Palm Beach and Riviera Beach, along with commercial properties throughout the area. Deck and fence staining, pressure washing of driveways and pool decks, and touch-ups on rental units can all be added to a larger job so you deal with one crew and one schedule.
