The short answer
ClearCoat Painting handles interior and exterior house painting across Martin County, including Stuart, Palm City, Hobe Sound, Port Salerno, Sewall's Point and Jupiter Island. We plan each job around salt exposure, sun, humidity and the rainy season, and we schedule exterior work to dodge the worst afternoon storms.
Martin County sits just north of our Jupiter shop, roughly twenty miles up the road, and our crews drive it often. The homes there span barrier-island properties on Jupiter Island, quiet streets in Hobe Sound, waterfront lots around Sewall's Point and Port Salerno, older neighborhoods in Stuart and newer subdivisions out in Palm City. Each of those settings treats paint a little differently, so we start every Martin County job by looking at where the house stands and what it faces before we talk about color.
Coastal and River Exposure Changes the Plan
A good share of Martin County housing is close to open water, the Intracoastal or the St. Lucie River. Salt carried on the breeze settles on stucco, window frames and railings, and it quietly works against paint adhesion. On homes in Sewall's Point, Port Salerno and along Jupiter Island we spend more time rinsing surfaces, checking metal for rust bloom and choosing coatings built to shed moisture.
Farther inland, in parts of Palm City and western Stuart, the bigger enemy tends to be direct sun and lawn irrigation hitting the lower walls. Those homes often show chalky, faded paint on the south and west sides and mildew streaks near the ground, so the prep focus shifts accordingly.
What We Paint Around the County
Most requests we get from Martin County fall into a handful of categories, and many homeowners combine two or three in one visit to save on setup.
- Full exterior repaints on concrete-block and stucco homes, with crack repair before coating
- Interior walls, ceilings, doors and trim, including color changes in open-plan living areas
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinet refinishing
- Pressure washing of driveways, walkways and pool decks before or after painting
- Deck and fence staining on wood that has grayed out in the sun
- Drywall patching after plumbing, electrical or storm-related repairs
Working With the Rainy Season
From May through October the region is hot, humid and wet, and thunderstorms tend to roll in during the afternoon. For outdoor work we start early, keep an eye on radar, and avoid laying fresh coats on walls that will be soaked within a couple of hours. The drier stretch from November into April is the easiest window for big exterior projects, and it fills up, so planning ahead helps.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. If you are preparing a home before storms or repairing it after one, we can walk the property with you and separate what needs immediate attention from what can wait.
Community Rules and Color Choices
Many Martin County neighborhoods and condo associations keep an approved palette or require a submission before an exterior color change. We are happy to help you gather sample swatches, product names and finish details for that paperwork, and we hold off on any exterior work until you have the approval in hand.
